Google & Search Engines
Business Webstars: trust in search results not in words
Google processes billions of searches every day and it is available in 123 languages. It wants to offer a global and shared achievement of knowledge without caring if a user is conveyed to another website, as long as he finds the information he is looking for.
The factors that have determined Google's success are above all its search speed and that it collects tons of information from its users and uses it to add functionality to its search engine results page (SERP).
In addition, Google is used as a search database by the major portals in the world and controls about 90% of the global search engine market, making it many times larger than its closest competitor.
That's why, it is very important for a website to be well positioned on Google.
Bing
Bing is Microsoft's search engine with its roots in the former MSN Search and Windows Live Search. It is easy to use and offers a more visual experience with beautiful background photos. Bing is great for video searches and has an innovative "semantic" approach, an evolution of web searching. While traditional search engines limit themselves to add the words used in the search, Bing can interpret the search topic based on the questions and words used and creating categories.
Bing currently remains the second best-known engine in the world, not least because Microsoft sets Bing as the basic search engine on the computer's purchase package browser. At the same time, Facebook uses Bing as its associated search engine, making it rapidly grow.
Yahoo!
Yahoo!, founded in 1993, was a major player in the early stages of the Internet industry. It acts as a portal that intends to provide a complete range of services to its users, without the need to "move" to other websites (so-called "one-stop destination"). It is the third largest search engine in the United States behind Google and Bing.
Baidu
Baidu is the second largest search engine in the world behind Google. It is also the largest search engine in China, with over 75% of that market.
Since its founding in 2000, Baidu has developed a user base of over 2 billion active users.
Although in Mandarin, it is surprisingly similar to Google, in terms of design. It is monetized via ads and uses rich snippets in search results.

When a company decides to go online and position itself in the great ocean of websites, it is natural and essential to take into account its positioning, and its visibility, respect to competitors.
Google is by far the most used search engine in the world, but it is important not to neglect its competitors, such as Bing, Yahoo and Baidu. It is essential that a company, after identifying its target markets, take action to make itself reachable and scale the results of the reference search engines of the respective markets (USA, Europe and Asia).
As it seems, Google is the place to be but, as with everything, there could be exceptions.
